The 38th New Haven Road Race once again was the USA 20K Championships and the hottest day of the Labor Day weekend with near record high temps in the low 90’s. Dan Lowry (left in picture) was the top performer for the B.A.A. men’s team placing 21st overall with a time 1:03:44 in a competitive US men’s field. Jared Ward won the race in a close sprint finish in 59:24.

Molly Huddle returned her recent disappointment at the IAAF World Championships in Bejing and led from the gun to retain her title from last year, winning the women’s race by almost a minute in 1:06:26. B.A.A. High Performance athlete Katie Matthews (center in picture) was the top B.A.A. finisher in 12th place in 1:10:36 with Heather Cappello in 25th place (1:15:05), Emily D’Addario (right in photo) in 30th place (1:18:39) and Kaela O’Neil in 37th place (1:21:52).

Congrats to the B.A.A. Running Club on their top performances at the New Haven Road Race and the Season’s 20K this Labor Day weekend!
