B.A.A. Women Win the USA 5K Team Competition at the CVS Health Downtown 5K

High Performance teammates Elaina Balouris and Sarah Pagano lead the team to victory with a pair of Top Ten performances.

elaina_balouris-_cvs5k_2015On Sunday, September 20th, the B.A.A. Women’s team won the USA 5K Team Championships at the CVS Health Downtown 5K in Providence, RI. Elaina Balouris (top image – credit: Kevin Morris) was the top B.A.A. woman finishing in 7th in 16:07 with Sarah Pagano (see image right – credit: Kevin Morris) just two paces behind in 9th in 16:15. Kaela O’Neil was the third scorer for the winning B.A.A. team finishing in 29th overall in 17:50.

jullian_saad_cvs5k_2015On the men’s side, B.A.A.’s Julian Saad (see image left – credit: Kevin Morris) of Providence was the top B.A.A. finisher just missing a top ten finish in 11th place overall in 14:22. Julian finished behind Diego Estrada of Flagstaff, AZ with both athletes given identical times. Dan Lowry was 30th in 15:06 and is preparing to compete in the USA 10 Mile Championships in two weeks in Minneapolis, MN.

Next up for the B.A.A. women’s team is the USA 10K Championships hosted by the Tufts 10K here in Boston on Monday, October 12th.
