Team places third at Manchester City Marathon to win the USATF-NE Grand Prix Road Race Series Team Championships
The Manchester City Marathon held on Sunday, November 6th in New Hampshire was the seventh and final team scoring event in the 2016 USATF-NE Grand Prix Road Race Series. Going into the final race, the B.A.A. men’s team held a seven point lead over Central Mass Striders, and it was up to a handful of B.A.A. men to hold that margin in order to win the series. On the heels of the Chicago Marathon just four weeks prior, B.A.A.’s Jason Reilly (seen in photo) lead with his 7th place finish overall in 2:37:36. At Chicago, Jason set a new PR in 2:33:20. Jason Porter and Mark LaRosa were running within earshot of Reilly in the final miles, finishing in 11th and 12th respectively (2:48:59 and 2:49:28). In addition, Porter earned extra prize money for his marathon effort by winning the Masters division. Also supporting the team effort was Paul Davies who dipped under 3 hours finishing 31st overall in 2:59:46. This is the 7th team title won by the B.A.A. since 2002.
Congrats to the B.A.A. men for their marathon finishes and bringing home the 2016 USATF-NE Grand Prix Road Race title!
